My IPs – Free Utility that Reveals Your IP
Do you need to find out what your internet IP is? Do you need to know what your local IP is? If you do, you can use the command line interface in Windows to find out what your IP is. Or you can use a free application called My IPs. Here is what you can expect to get if you choose to use the Camtech 2000-developed application My IPs.
Whenever you launch the application, you will see the following bits of information in its interface:
Local host – your computer’s name
Local IP – your IP if you are part of a local network
Internet IP – your internet IP, as it is seen by the websites you visit
Host – your internet provider
Network PC – the computers on your local network
Network IP – the corresponding IP of all the computers on your local network.
Each time you will launch My IPs, the application will automatically look for this information. From the application’s interface you can’t do all that much. You can Refresh the information My IPs gathered, you can Save the information it gathered, you can Close the application, and you can find out some additional details About it. I put those words in italics because that’s the name of the button you have to click.
To use My IPs you will have to first download the application off the web. This will only take a moment as the download weighs in at some 1.7MB. Even on a less than spectacular internet connection, it should not take long for the download to complete. Installing the application takes very little time as well; it is a simple process that goes along smoothly. According to the application’s developer, at the time of writing this, My IPs provides support for Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, and XP. After you’re done installing My IPs, you can use the application for as long as you want free of charge since it is freeware.
